At one point in my career I was doing house painting for important people, movie stars and doctors and what have you. And I noticed that a lot of them never had company, never seem to socialize, so this idea came into mind. It's called "A Person of High Importance", and like people of high importance, they're the top of the totem pole, so to speak. This is another one of my acrylic paintings that I did, it's on illustration board. It's 18 x 24 and I did it in 1985. It was very tedious to do but it a great pleasure to do it.

Sketches of High Importance

All sketches for this artwork look to have been created in 1985, which goes to show sometimes Vernon gets an idea and quickly goes to work detailing its drafts culminating with the completion of the painting itself. Such was the case with "A Person of High Importance", another case study of sorts.
