Truth

This is a painting that I did back in the early 60s, it's called Truth. There's a little baby, Christ Child, in the shaft of light among all the muddled darkness, and he is surrounded by a crown of thorns. This is the birth and death of Christ. The thorns have a few people that have given up and are lying on the thorns themselves. The thorns create sort of a, a fence to keep man from finding true spiritual love.

I thought this could be a good memorial for the destruction of Notre Dame, since they saved the Crown of Thorns.
