LoVe Artes

My friends, Bruce, Ed and I, took a camping tour all through Arizona, up into Utah. We stopped at the Bryce Canyons, and got a horse, and we went down into the bottom of the canyon, spent six hours down there, traveling around. And, the spires almost look like people, so I could almost hear them singing, so I call this painting "The Choir." There is a conductor in the middle of the painting, with both arms in the air. And behind him is the organist, on a high stool. This is a very spiritual afternoon and morning. The scenery, the afternoon and my feelings, just kind of pestered me for a couple of weeks before I decided to do the painting. The painting is 30 x 35 (inches), its oil on canvas, and I did it in 1984. Seems like a long time ago.
